WI'MWUI #46: Denim x Stripes

The spring almost came on time. But not really, we were presented with what? 2 days of sun and 19 degrees, thinking we could start dumping the big coats on the chest but then it was all over as quick as it came. But fear not my pies, I'm confident we're going to have an acceptable summer in London. Ok, I'm not really but let's hope, yes? In the meantime, let's look at some spring looks so the time goes faster...

A day with a twin.

My high school lovely came to visit a (little...) while ago for the first time since I moved to London. Unacceptable, I know. As most of my visits, she was staying for a long weekend which means I had to fit all the 345 things I wanted to show her in a couple of days. As I was working on Friday (and have seen the Big Ben and the London Eye about 1200 times), told her to do the touristic bits by giving her a little plan to follow - not nearly as good as my friends Joana's itineraries, of course, but still OK ish. The poor thing had bad luck and had to face the coldest & rainiest day we had in ages so by the time she met me on Friday all she wanted (and me, tired as I was!) was a quiet dinner & a catch up.

The next day, we got up early & full of strength and were presented with some sun - what a delight.

And what's the best way of starting a Saturday in London? Yep, bruuuunch.

I chose Brew for being mega close to home & the most delicious. I just love going there and pretty much ordering the same thing all the time.

I went for the scrambled eggs & chorizo on toast - my fav. And I convinced Inês to try the typical Eggs Benedict, a must if you've never had before.

The look on her face says it all. Then I had my one & only milkshake - the Oreo one, that is literally to die for! Inês went for the fresh Lemonade to make me feel fatty.

After brunch, we headed to my fav place to take people on a Saturday - Portobello Market. I mentioned before here that this was a very expensive day. Below you can see why.

Portobello never disappoints. The sun was out, the market was as lively as ever and we had a great time popping in every little shop to check it out. Sadly, we were still ridiculously full and weren't able to try the market food. But managed to spend our money somewhere else...

[Inês fell in love with this skirt, obvs.]

And because we weren't satisfied (or I wasn't satisfied!), we took the bus to Oxford Street to check out Forever 21, Topshop, Disney and M&M store. Can never give these 4 a miss, even the last one, that I think I would know my way in there blindfolded - disgraceful!

[Still can't sleep at night because of these slip-on babies from Aldo. Oh well!]

Once at home, after a heavy journey full of shopping bags, we got ready to meet the Beef and his friend Gibb. We followed them to a very busy Adventure Bar on Battersea Rise and... There are not many photos beyond that.

We should have days like this every so often to make us appreciate the city we live in! Miss you already joly <3

WI'MWUI #45: The bright blue door.

I'm not even going to ask how your Monday has been - if you've seen my Facebook page here, you will know this was not a good Monday. I seriously need to find ways of blowing the Monday moods away, all suggestions are welcome. This is to say that, obviously, this outfit is not from today! Nevertheless, it's definitely one of my favourites. It features pretty much all of my dearest pieces - the oversized camel coat, the skinny jeans, the white shirt & the (clearly new) black hat. Perfff. And to make it even better, it happened to have a bright blue door as a background - totally bloggerlike. It was mere coincidence though, don't get your hopes too high!

There is a BLOGGERS competition - I'm in.

OMG. There is actually a Bloggers competition going on that doesn't only feature the very Top blogs out there. So I'm all in, obvs. Now that I'm taking this blogging thing more seriously, it would be amazing just to have the opportunity to meet other bloggers out there and get the most out of it. I think that's the best part of it really... Well apart from the fact that I have an excuse to take pictures of me on my clothes all the time and therefore have to buy more! Anyway. So Company Magazine is rolling this out by the 3rd Year now and this time in association with Missguided - which makes us even more excited (don't forget they have just done a collection with Nicole Sherzinger... Yes, Nicole!).

It would mean the whole world plus the other Universe that must be hidden somewhere if you spent 1 min and 34 seconds (not more than that, I reassure you!) to get in the website below and vote for me! Mega easy, see:

1. Click here to go to the website

2. Click Next Page

3. Choose the Best Personal Style Blog (newcomer) - I am a baby blog after all!

4. Type in your email address, my blog URL (http://theportuguesepinkpie.blogspot.co.uk/) and why you like it!

Easy Peasy, that's how you say it, right?! Pretty pretty pleaseeeeee! Thanks everyone for keep coming back <3

All White: Should I stay or Should I go?

I've been stuck with this one for a little while now and think I finally made my mind about it. What's with the sudden comeback of the All White outfits?! In fact, what's with the comeback of the one-colour outfits in general? Not too long ago you were weird for matching up too much, for mixing brown with black or, even more outrageous, dark blue with black. Now, there's not one day you don't see someone wearing an one-colour outfit or just a matching trousers & blazer with an eccentric pattern. I must say I usually have my doubts about these kind of comeback trends but I think... I'm actually falling for this one.

And no one does it better than Danielle from WeWoreWhat. It just works, weirdly, but it does. I absolutely love the mix with the denim jacket as well as the oversized camel coat she sometimes wears (check mine here and here).

Some of my other favourite bloggers don't stay behind though...

Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad

 Zina from Fashion Vibe

I've been debating so much about this subject that it somehow came up with the boys even. Apparently, in their (very fashionable & knowledgeable) minds, white jeans are still seen as a bit cheesy too much - yes Russy, this is for you. Guess we're gonna have to change their minds, huh?!

And just to finalise on the matching trousers & blazer, have I mentioned I can't stop thinking about the minute I'll get my hands on this one Jourdan is rocking?! Oh yes, I have...

Check her full Today I'm wearing post for VOGUE here and be as desperate as I am!

WI'MWUI #44: The Baseball Jacket

Yep, you did have a glimpse of this a couple of weeks ago and yes, it took me a while to finally post the look. So here it is! Bought this buddy in a very expensive day spent around London when my lovely high-school twin was visiting. Oh boy, it was an expensive day. But totally worth it. I'm mad in love with this bad boy of a jacket, so Baseball, so American.
