WI'MWUI #43: Hello Summer?!
Morning pies! Well not so much morning since it looks like the time changed, right? I always get so confused when this happens due to all the bloody electronic devices that change automatically. Have to use the old microwave trick to check that it actually happened - not for long I bet, I'm sure they're already building a microwave and an oven that are so electronically evolved that change on their own too. Argh! Either way, even though they took us one hour of beauty sleep, they gave us one extra hour of sunshine, and that's what matters! On that line, I decided to post my first Summer post - and guess what?! Pictures taken with my new AWESOME camera! No one stopping me now...
Bom dia pies! Excitamento.

WI'MWUI #42: The Printed Trousers @ LisboaFashionWeek
I know you've had a glance at these ones before (check here for the full post on ModaLisboa), but hope you didn't think I wasn't going to do a proper post about them. THE trousers. The ones I spotted on LOOK magazine on the plane and HAD to have them. The ones that are made of that weird scuba-diving suit fabric that is a tiny bit hot. The ones I rocked on Lisbon Fashion Week. *sigh*
AS calças. *ai*

Portuguesey @ Empadaria do Chef
Oh.My.Lord. I'm already freaking obsessed with the Portuguese pastries since I was born but this place is a complete delight. [For my English friends, I mean savoury pastries, not deserts.] Owned by a super famous Portuguese Chef - José Avillez (check his website here) - the Empadaria do Chef turns one of the Portuguese specialities in something quick, easy, affordable and still incredibly chic.
The place
The decoration is absolutely lo-ve-ly. Located inside the Armazéns do Chiado, the mini shopping centre in Chiado, it's the perfect place to pop by and have a quick meal before going back to the touristy stuff. It's super quick, no queues, and you have lots of tables across all the other restaurants so no waiting either. And the actual stand just makes you paint your kitchen blue straightaway.
Convinced yet?! Check out their Facebook page here and then there will be no doubts...
The Food
I don't even need to go into much detail here. It's just amazing. If you like pastries, then you're in heaven. If you don't, then try it because that's about to change. You have just the right amount of options you need - enough to leave me in my indecisive mode. I went for the Vitela & Espinafres (Beef & Spinach) one, with rice and salad as sides. But please go more than once so you can try the others - and let me know, obvs.
Traditional chicken, Prawn, Beef & Spinach, Chorizo... A whole variety to make your mouth water!
The Menus that make your life easier...
The sides: White rice, Tomato rice, Salad...
The desserts: Lime mousse and Chocolate cake
WI'MWUI #41: Rock meets the City
Happy (lazy) Sunday everyone! I clearly say lazy based on my activities today - a girl needs to catch up on the missed episodes, right?! But there is always some strength to blog - especially about clothes. Given the recent changes around here, I thought I'd change the name of the most posted post: What I'm Wrapped Up In. I want to put a bit more of me in it (if that's possible!) and decided these babies need a name - a personalised one. So here's my first one, where rock style meets the city, more particularly, Lisbon. Everyone loves a bit of black, everyone loves a bit of a sunny Lisbon.
What I'm Wrapped Up In.

In love with... #10: the new purse
Finally went on a trip to Selfridges last night - had a £200 voucher to spend since 6 months ago, I know, outrageous! I had it in my mind I was going to buy a bag, a good one. I also had in my mind a list of my favourite ones, all mega awesome, mega fabulous and... mega expensive. Chanel, Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Céline... Yes, dream on. And because these beauties were in my head like one of those massive headaches that don't go away, I didn't settle for anything under the (ridiculously high) bar. So, I didn't get a bag in the end but I did get an amazing DKNY purse to replace my ancient Mango one. Kind of an upgrade, no?
I hope you're not thinking I spent £200 on this purse - I obviously didn't. I still have quite a few pounds to make me wander around Selfridges again, hopefully gossiping with Sara (www.ladylippy.blogspot.com) and following it up with a tapas dinner in a crazy soho place! Perfect plan.
All about #ModaLisboa
A last minute trip to Portugal to visit the crazy family, a last minute outfit purchase after a flight spent reading LOOK Magazine, a last minute ticket to Lisbon Fashion Week (aka Moda Lisboa). Ahhhh. What could have been better than arriving at my lovely hometown only to realise Fashion Week was happening that weekend? Other than a Chanel bag waiting for me at home, nothing really.
So that was it, the awesome Patricia from Food, Fashion and Make Up blog - check it out here, you're going to loooove it! - got me 2 tickets for Moda Lisboa and I took my sister to look at some clothes. Well you know me, I obvs enjoyed looking at the clothes everyone was wearing much more than the actual catwalk ones. But the whole thing just got me excited. Cameras, photographers, free fashion magazines, clothes and pretty (ok, some were very weird) people. All that to add to the sunniest day in months - you got me beyond hysterical.
Had bought these trousers at (the usual trip to) Zara the day before and didn't even think twice. Must say they are a tiny bit warm, being made of that fabric I hate that feels like I'm inside of a scuba-diving suit. But they dressed well and were awesome so got them & love them. Sis was looking so great that I still have nightmares for not having a yellow blaser like that.
Some photoshoots later, we went in to watch Lidija Kolovrat's show - sorry, never heard of you Lidija, but you haven't done too bad.
Some Portuguese celebs, some more goodies, a lot more photos...
The whole thing lasted only for a couple of hours but we got the taste. And it was good gossip, that's for sure. Next stop - September's London Fashion Week if I'm so lucky and my lovely Sara from Lady Lipstick does super well in her fashion degree. Muah x
