GOODBYE & SEE YOU AT OFFICE CATWALK

Hey there! I'm no longer blogging at The Portuguese Pink Pie. I have however started a new page at Office Catwalk and would love for you to come and have a look. You'll find the same tone of voice, the same face behind the looks but all a little more applicable to the workplace - you know, that place where we, normal people, spend the majority of our week and therefore should be (and look!) fun!

You can also still follow me on all the social media gigs below -

Jeez, when did social media become so complicated?! Anyway, come and say hi and hopefully you'll enjoy the smart casual outfits as much as these!

Extreme Makeover!

The day has finally come! A couple of months ago, I decided - with the help of some very forward and with-no-filter friends! - that I was sick of the pink background and the blog had to change. Today is the day, woohoo! Well I've seen it ages ago but needed to show you otherwise it's no fun. The Beef has spent a generous amount of time practicing his HTML coding skills (yep, I'm into geeks!) and redesigned the whole thing (as you can probably tell!) with me just going "Hmm, don't know, I want white but not too white, pink but not too pink, just cool and clean but also with all of these buttons..." - drove him mad a couple of times but nothing a little hug can't solve. In the meantime, my lovely bomboca Inês came up with this amazing logo, following my poor directions like "I don't really know, do what you want, I just want the word pink in pink!" - again, such an easy client (!!!). This is the result - the pink had to stay but I think it looks cleaner and better, with some cool hidden features I dare you to find out! What do you think?! Well, now you have to tell me - there's no keeping to yourselves you naughties. ❤️

Special thanks to:
Ben Hurst - the code & layout boy
Inês Teixeira Gomes - the logo & fonts girl

Let me know if you need some work like this and they will be more than happy to sort you out. Get in touch and I'll make it happen!

O dia chegou! ❤️

Agradecimentos especiaizinhos:
Ben Hurst - o menino do código e do desenho;
Inês Teixeira Gomes - a menina do logotipo e dos tipos de letra.

Se precisarem de ajuda para uma coisa do género digam qualquer coisa que arranja-se já negócio - entrem em contacto e eu faço acontecer!

My demands were:

- Easy to use - there's no worse than buying something to then realise you need a degree in engineering to be able to use it.
- Professional photos - You know, models are really pretty but it does help a fair bit when the pictures are taken with a good camera that blurs the background and make them look super awesome.
- Acceptable videos - If it's an investment, may as well be 2 in 1 and serve as an amateur filming camera for great holiday videos!
- SUPER easy to transfer - Yep, it does have WiFi so I can upload my photos onto my laptop without any weird cables (that are ridiculously easy to forget at home!) and it also has a mega app that somehow transfers them to your iPhone too (still to be assessed, believe it when I see it...).
- Good size - I do want to look cool with a Canon but let's face it, there is no way I was going to carry a massive brick in my bag every day to snap my outfits all the time. We do like big handbags but they don't necessarily have to be heavy enough to break your arm.

I think I'm being quite a good customer here. At least I know what I want...! Now the bad news is: this baby is outrageously cheaper in New York which means I'm going to have to wait 3 whole months to have it (!!!). In the meantime, can some experts that happen up pop by tell me if it's, in fact, a good choice? Pretty please?

You tell me!

Hi guys! How's that Tuesday going? Mine was quite eventful at work but nothing that a good dinner doesn't solve (if the Beef ever shows up!). So I come to ask for your help this time. I started the pink blog because I wanted to show my clothes and tell my stories to the world. But, more importantly, I want to inspire someone out there and find people that can identify themselves with me & the blog! People that like to come here, have a good laugh, get some ideas for tomorrow's outfit they can't be bothered to choose, have a look at the new trends, get some tips on good restaurants to show off on a date or check some wallet-liking purchases that cheer anyone up, anytime.

For that, I've set up my About Me (or Me, Me, Me as I like to call it in memory of my old flatmates) page & and email address that you can get in touch with. I know, I know most of you find comments quite awkward (even the ones who do have a blog!) or just can't really be arsed to type something in. So now you have a way to contact me with anything you want to ask, any suggestions or things you'd like me to post about, any questions about the outfits & clothes I wear and you want to wear too! Pleaseeee do get in touch and let me know what you think - it will help keep me going!

The phone battery that has its own will

There are a lot annoying things with a phone. Just a general one, not being picky about brands. It's annoying when you're texting, want to delete a word and somehow manage to delete the whole sentence; it's annoying when you're writing an email and there's no internet when you press send; it's annoying when you're in a rush and every word you type goes wrong and becomes even more wrong with the auto correct; it's very annoying when you press send too quickly, the auto correct is quicker and you have to resend it; it's annoying when you're writing a huge blog post and run out of battery without saving. I could go on for 3 days here. But what is REALLY annoying is the fact that your 1% of battery lasts for about 2 hours when you're home, right next to a charger and just being lazy; and your 10% of battery last about 5 nanoseconds when you're alone in the middle of the night and desperately need to call someone to know where you're going. That my friends, just drives a poor soul to madness.

Hello 2014

Happy 1st day of the year! How's that hangover going? Got through the family lunch or sat on the sofa all day? I'm leaning towards the second one since I'm back in London and therefore there's no crazy family around. I have demanded an early New Year's dinner though, which will put me cooking in no time. Just to say hello to everyone and to this lovely year ahead of us! Hope you've made your 12 wishes last night eating your 12 raisins - I've done it with smarties of course, yukky raisins! My public wish is to turn the pink blog into a better place where you can laugh, make fun of, identify with, relax a bit, get inspired and hopefully follow some of my craziness throughout the year. Here are my 2013 looks with one of my fav songs behind it. Enjoy <3

See ya later 2013

I wouldn't be a real blogger if I didn't do a goodbye 2013 post. I don't usually do a huge recap of the year that is gone. But I guess having a blog kind of changes that a bit. What's the point of registering everything you do if you don't go back to see how was it?! So let's see 2013's key milestones...

❤️ New house - moved in with my twin friend to the lovely cream palace
❤️ Andorra - skiing trip that almost killed us all
❤️ Beef meets the wider family - yes dangerous, I know. He did good though, came for Easter's big lunch and a couple of days to wander around Lisbon
❤️ Got an iPhone - yes, it changed my life
❤️ Park House Rugby Party survival - not only survived but also took my sister and friend that were visiting. Really putting myself out there I'd say...
❤️ 1 year putting up with my crazy Beef
❤️ Greece. No comments needed
❤️ New job - sadly left my first company and joined an even crazier one
❤️ Started a blog - well I guess you know that but this is obvs my favourite one. It feels like ages ago but this pink little space only started in September
❤️ Dad's 60th
❤️ Berlin
❤️ Saw Prince William for the first time - really far away and could barely distinguish his royal wave but it counts surely
❤️ Got a Michael Kors watch - HA.

Have a look at the visual version of the above and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! x
