5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW IF YOU FLY A LOT

At the end of another rush weekend back home, where you try to fit 345 activities in two and a half days and still get surprised you don't quite manage to do them all, thought I'd do a list of a few basics we should all know if we fly a lot.

HOW TO DISTINGUISH A PORTUGUESE FROM AN ENGLISH PERSON IN A LISBON-LONDON FLIGHT

The Portuguese person will open the sandwich package on top, slide the sandwich up like a lipstick and eat it without getting their hands dirty; the English person will rip the package open in the middle, take it off altogether and eat their sandwich spreading crumbs across their seat and everyone else's. Then, the Portuguese person with clean hands will open the napkin package, take it off and wipe their already clean mouth and hands; the English person will most likely not even notice there is a napkin there unless they somehow need sugar for their tea - very unlikely. If they do, they'll take the sugar off and leave the napkin inside, untouched.

THAILAND, YOU ROCK.

Hello little pies! As you probably noticed, the fun is over and we're back to annoyingly-cold London - but not without a smile on our faces. Two whole weeks in Thailand were just the perfect amount of time to completely relax and forget I have a house, a job and actually, a blog. Well, I think one would understand that it's not a real life trade-off when you're presented with the choices of 'spend your day on the beach with no WiFi' and 'stick around your hotel and blog a bit'. Besides, a lot of you are probably already bored of my never ending instagram pictures of sunshine & bikinis in the last few weeks anyway... I must warn you they are here to stay and they are going to continue to illuminate my days until I have no more to look at - apologies in advance to the more sensitive ones.

Introductions aside, thought I'd leave you with some of my favourite photos of the overall trip in a little Flipagram video. Then I'll do a couple of photo-heavy posts on each island just so you get really realllly jealous - as you should.

Enjoy!

NYC Guide: Day 1 & A Bit Of Rain.

So we were in New York. After too many travel hours, one Sex and the City and one Harry Potter films later, we were there. Oh My God. Did I say this was my dream trip since I was like 10? Oh yeah, I must have. Headed to our hotel to drop the massive suitcases (half empty, clever girls) - just the perfect excuse to get in a yellow cab. Eek! Unfortunately for us, we probably got the dirtiest, oldest and weirdest yellow cab that must exist in the whole NYC. Like with old food everywhere and a bunch of cables instead of a radio, weird. Either way, happy as ever!

NYC Guide: Intro

Hi friends! You must have seen this coming but: I freaking LOVED New York. I was one of those idiots that used to say "NYC is my dream city to live in", "Oh, but have you been before?", "No, but I just know it.". Take that, pals! I knew I was born to live there. Maybe when the frogs start singing, the trees start walking and the Beef has a nervous breakdown and changes his mind we can move there for a bit. That said, of course I am going to post ALL about it - it will be The Portuguese Pink Pie's NYC Guide. Or just a bunch of nice photos for you to get inspired and book your flights.

To give you a bit of a taste, here's a quick slideshow with some of our best moments - C & M, just like Serena & Blair, taking over the entire city ❤️

Easter Snaps

And the Easter break is gone. How about a quick run through the best bits with some stunning pictures to add to it? Oh go on then.

It started well with an amazing lunch at Bar do Guincho.

Totally recommend it if you're staying in Cascais, even for a quick visit. Amazing view of Praia da Adrága and, as you can tell, amazing food to go with it. Don't forget to order the white Sangria - oh summer!

Once our stomachs stopped complaining, we headed to Boca do Inferno for a little touristic pretend - since every time the Beef comes to town, all we do is eat and drink with the family, culture not so much.

The (three) kids had some fun at the beach.

Easter Sunday was spent in Sintra - a lot of family and babies everywhere!

Monday was time for some (and the only) shopping at Chiado with the sun shining! Then a quick bite at No Solo Italia in Belém - near the river, amazing food and even better caipiroskas!

A good long weekend, never quite long enough...

Edinburgh, the Beefs' holiday

I'm baaack. To London and to the Blog. And to the tube strikes & craziness of work and day to day life. Buah. Edinburgh was a-mazing, so amazing I couldn't hold off this post for long! Definitely need to start booking more long weekends as they actually feel like a proper holiday - says the person who has just booked flights for each month until May (NEW YORK, haaaa!). This time I can say I've been on an actual English holiday. And dare I say, these guys know their sh*it.

[Note to self: when trying to type sh*t in a work email, maybe don't write the actual word with a star in the middle - that is obviously not the point.]

Holidays are still holidays if you don't wake up at 7am; if you don't walk around every minute of the day until your feet bleed; if you don't go to every museum in town; if you don't carry a TimeOut guide with you. I know, I know, it's debatable. Some of you will say you have to get as much of it as you can and for that you need to give up sleeping, eat while walking and visit every little chapel. However, I do enjoy walking around in my own time, stop to eat, stop to drink, do some shopping and get a little drunk. That's just how I roll. And apparently this English family rolls with me.

Arrived on Thursday evening and Big Head Joe picked us up from the airport. What a sweetie. Oh, that's another thing. I do enjoy going on a city break where a friend is there to give you tips and take you to cool places. Going out with the locals is my thing - turism by itself, not so much.

Some cocktails for the road, check! Next morning came early-ish, with the most amazing English breakfast cooked by my fav Host. Was clearly too hungry to take a snap, soz. The day went by with a visit to Edinburgh's Castle and a stop at the pub with some very political discussions.

Immediately fell in love with the city, the views & the cute pubs everywhere.

(I know it's Cafe Rouge and we have it here but God it's cute!)

(For a moment I thought I was in a Harry Potter film, I admit it)

And the weekend went by just like that. A lot of fun, good laughs (mainly at my stupidity at at Joe's big head), amazing food and drunken drinks would sum it up. Perf.

No, his face is not usually this yellow...

More outfit posts to come...

Missing you already, you crazy little people. You rock. That's why you're on the blog. X
