Extreme Makeover!

The day has finally come! A couple of months ago, I decided - with the help of some very forward and with-no-filter friends! - that I was sick of the pink background and the blog had to change. Today is the day, woohoo! Well I've seen it ages ago but needed to show you otherwise it's no fun. The Beef has spent a generous amount of time practicing his HTML coding skills (yep, I'm into geeks!) and redesigned the whole thing (as you can probably tell!) with me just going "Hmm, don't know, I want white but not too white, pink but not too pink, just cool and clean but also with all of these buttons..." - drove him mad a couple of times but nothing a little hug can't solve. In the meantime, my lovely bomboca Inês came up with this amazing logo, following my poor directions like "I don't really know, do what you want, I just want the word pink in pink!" - again, such an easy client (!!!). This is the result - the pink had to stay but I think it looks cleaner and better, with some cool hidden features I dare you to find out! What do you think?! Well, now you have to tell me - there's no keeping to yourselves you naughties. ❤️

Special thanks to:
Ben Hurst - the code & layout boy
Inês Teixeira Gomes - the logo & fonts girl

Let me know if you need some work like this and they will be more than happy to sort you out. Get in touch and I'll make it happen!

O dia chegou! ❤️

Agradecimentos especiaizinhos:
Ben Hurst - o menino do código e do desenho;
Inês Teixeira Gomes - a menina do logotipo e dos tipos de letra.

Se precisarem de ajuda para uma coisa do género digam qualquer coisa que arranja-se já negócio - entrem em contacto e eu faço acontecer!

What I'm wrapped up in #40

A quick & simple look with what's on at the moment - the basics. Sis and I are all over this subject recently and I truly believe that, even after watching all catwalks and collections at the Fashion Month full of patterns and different textures, the basics are on the trends and I'm all in with this one! It's (relatively) easy, it's comfy, it works and it's on - that's all we need to know. Ah, and to finalise, match it with some funky shoes: Result.

Stuck on TV #2

Ok, I'm not actually stuck on TV with this one anymore, mainly because it's... Over. The. Saddest. Day. Of. My. Life. I miss the characters, I miss the houses, I miss the parties, I miss the catfights but most of all, I miss the CLOTHES and Blair Waldorf. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm talking about Gossip Girl.

I know the name of this post is in the present but I almost feel like I'm betraying Blair and Serena for not opening this post type with their series. I was stuck to it for like 5 years - it's too good. I guess because I have this thing with New York and the whole fashion blast and they sleep in Chanel... Bitches. I'm pretty sure everyone that will potentially read anything on my blog will know or seen Gossip Girl but in case I'm wrong, this one is all about high end fashion, super rich families, crazy friendships and all drama that comes with it. It's young, it's up to date, it's fresh and it has that bit of drama we all love. AND it features two of my fav celebs - Leighton Meester & Blake Lively. Pretty, pretty and pretty. Bitches.

What I'm wrapped up in #39

Andddd this is one of my fav looks at the moment. That casual-wanna-be-gangsta is so on I couldn't resist. This features for the first time my amazing slip ons that were a success in the last post (and that I haven't taken off for a second so you'll be seeing them quite a lot!). Here's the full look as promised, wearing my new black leather jacket found in Portobello Market - the best place to take friends that are visiting! It was a bit expensive for a little boutique, especially since I decided to go to Lisbon and bring a whole new wardrobe back so this month HAS to be a cheap one if I want to buy any pair of socks in NY later in May...

Men, at their most useless state

I've been thinking a lot about this subject and whether or not I should pick on the other species one more time. I just can't help it, can I?! They are such an easy target that spring my feminism levels right to the top. This one is about those men (in case you were still wondering who I was talking about) that decide to accompany their lovely wife/girlfriend/partner/sister/mum-for-Christ-sake to the shops. You know, when they go shopping. No, I don't mean food or furniture shopping. I mean actual clothes. Please tell me you've never noticed an inanimate soul standing in Zara, not looking at anything, not doing anything, just taking up OUR space. Yes, you have and yes, it is our space. Especially because they are always in our way, just when you need to pick that specific rail to get size 36 as 38 is way too big (you did start that diet so you will fit in that 36 no matter what!). There they are, huge, clumsy, knocking half of the hangers down and occupying an unmeasurable amount of space that you could be using to buy that perfect top that would change your life. I'm starting to sound like Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of a shopaholic, next step is to make up excuses not to pay my credit card bill. No, only joking.

Anyway, I've asked myself why this happens. And I can't help but blame women. Whyyyy on earth would you ask/let your man come browsing clothes with you?! Who would want such misery? You want their opinion? I can tell you right now they will say you look good in that slutty dress or bad in that skirt that looks like it came out of your grandmother's wardrobe. Or just the opposite, if he's the conservative (aka jealous!) type he will say that dress shows way too much skin and your mum wouldn't be proud. Here's me generalising as usual - I know there may be one or two exceptions that like (cough, pretend!) to have an opinion and are not that bad after all. But for these ones - they STILL take up some precious space that could be much better used; And they wander around the fitting rooms when I want to see myself in the big mirror outside, which is awkward (for him and for you!); And... it's just wrong.

The only thing they're good for is to carry our one-too-many bags - and for that, my friends, they can wait outside.

What I'm wrapped up in #38

You know those days where you have your outfit all planned out in your head, the combo set, the perfect picture in mind... And then it just doesn't work? Well, this was one of those days. I had bought a new Topshop top that would go perfectly with my stripy black & white trousers. As soon as I tried it on, there it was - that look in the mirror, rage in my face, outfit not working. Argh! It went all straight back to the shop, some cash back in my lovely account and happy face ahead of the shopping that was about to come. It's always good to return something, that feeling you can get something else for FREE - because let's face it, it is for free if you're not actually swiping your card. You're just not - you're picking something up, trying it on and taking that same item home without paying. It must count as free, even though you spent that exact money 2 days ago - it's free now so that's all that matters. After a little anger management, I finally found something in my (almost empty!) wardrobe that was comfy and trendy for a turist day around London with my bestie from school. What-a-lovely-day.

For my amazing followers that have been in love with this coat and asking for more photos, here you gooo - don't say I'm not a nice pie!
